» BASiCS longevity; approx. twenty years characteristics; typically brutish, roguish, blood-thirsty. a model enmity should be sly, cunning to some extent, but not extremely intelligent. they should be bred to enjoy the slaughter, the games, and the fights that they will later grow to endure, and should for the most part be unafraid of dying. the typical enmity is not exactly loyal, and most will vie for whatever scraps of power they can get. not every enmity follows these traits, but one of prime breeding should have at least one of these characteristics.
» BODY STRUCTURE height; the tallest enmity was recorded at 17hh, while the shortest was 13.2hh build; all enmity are composed of stocky, well-muscled bodies. they have short, thick heads, big ears, long, corded necks and deep, well-refined chests. their shoulders are set at a slight angle, and their backs have a steep curve, a heavy barrel, and sloping hindquarters. their legs should be long in proportion to their bodies, thin, and capable of carrying massive weight. hind legs should be slightly wider than the front, with flat joints and large, durable hooves. their gaits are characterized as feral, as the enmity always seem to be moving at a charge, and not as smooth as the acumen's. similar to; larger: fresian, fjord smaller: icelandic, haflinger coloration; the basecoat of an enmity is typically either black, chestnut, bay, or palomino. while other colors have appeared, they are often rare. occasionally, a enmity has been known to carry the graying gene. markings; enmity are known to have several primitive markings. those who exhibit stockings will sometimes have leg barring. shoulder stripes, or long stripes that extend down the withers and shoulder from the dorsal stripe, also occur. some enmity have "zippers", or patches of lighter - often matching the basecoat - color that extends down the back of the forelegs when stockings are present. others are known for dorsal stripes of varying thicknesses. face masks and ear marks, or dark hair on the lower side of the face; darker hair on the tips of the ears, rims of ears, or the entire ear itself, is also a very common trait amongst the enmity. appaloosa markings are not typical, but have appeared. traits; the most common of the enmity's distinctive traits is its mane. there are two popular types; a short, frizzy mane that extends roughly six inches, and a short, cropped mane that does not grow further after foalhood. guard hairs are often present amongst both types, but more often with the latter. hair along the bottom of the face, back of legs, and feathering have been reported in some enmity.
» HABiTAT climate; typically the enmity prefer hot and humid places above colder climates. however, their thick winter coats help them survive when the weather turns. preferred living; enmity are most often found where they are contained by the acumen. however, given a choice, an enmity will most often head toward a flat, broad plain or desert, where the heat is sufficient and there is very little turbulence in the land. the enmity will almost never be found along ridges of mountains or steep hills, because their thick builds make it difficult to maneuver around small ledges. the only exception is perhaps an enmity under fourteen hands high, who unlike his larger brethren, can angle better around rocks. grouping; enmity live in groups called "gangs", in what they refer to as ganglands, in the downtown and sometimes upside sections of catharsis. these gangs usually have strict hierarchy, and are typically led by a single equine, generally by an acumen, who may be male or female. slave enmity; enmity that live as slaves and fight in the colloseum for prizes are bred in captivity. they are trained to rever their acumen masters and do all they can to please them. they are by no means less bloodthirsty than free enmity, but simply submit to acumen that know how to train and treat them.
